In order to best prepare students for learning and careers in the 21st century, The Bridge Way School focuses on process as well as content. In conjunction with the Keystone School, a Pennsylvania-accredited cyber school, we offer “blended learning” in the science curriculum, which is a hybrid of virtual learning and face-to-face interaction with instructors. We currently utilize EdOptions Academy and Edgenuity with online certified teachers. and an in-person STEM interventionist to support scholars on their journey of scientific study.
Over 50% of higher institutions in the United States employ some form of virtual learning, and leaders in the world of commerce have acknowledged that cyber-based communication has revolutionized the way people conduct business. Research indicates that students who learn in an environment that combines virtual learning with the traditional classroom perform better, on average, than students with access to classroom instruction alone.

We also utilize project-based learning to consider social crises in our world. Scientific inquiry and reflection on the social implications of the research and practices of science are important processes in each of these courses. Scientific inquiry is marked by curiosity, openness to new ideas, and informed skepticism. In the Fall of 2023, students will engage in multi-disciplinary projects which include STEAM and social analysis of food ways, mass incarceration, and creative communities.
